    Abstract:

    Objective To study the bone disuse behavior with electric field under low load stimulation frequency. Methods A bone disuse model under mechanical and electric stimulation was proposed. A finite element model of proximal femur was established by reverse engineering. The disuse results under low mechanical stimulation frequency were discussed. The dynamic change of bone density was analyzed combined with electric field stimulation. Results The density was significantly decreased by decreasing the frequency of daily load stimulation frequency. As a therapeutic method, electric field can resist density loss caused by low load stimulation in a certain range. Conclusions The model can simulate disuse caused by the decrease of daily load stimulation frequency and simulate the disuse process of femur affected by electric field to resist the phenomenon of disuse.
