    Abstract:

Finite element method has become an effective tool for biomechanical research because of its high efficiency, accuracy and repeatability. Due to the complex anatomical structure and motion characteristics of foot and ankle, the finite element method can solve the problems that are difficult to be solved in real experiments with the help of powerful simulation modeling and data calculation ability, which has unique advantages and has been widely used. In this paper, the literatures on biomechanics of foot and ankle using finite element analysis method at home and abroad in recent five years are summarized, and the following four aspects are reviewed: biomechanical analysis of foot and ankle under different motion states, research on tissue characteristics, clinical treatment analysis, and research on orthosis and shoes, to provide theoretical reference for the research of foot and ankle biomechanics, It also provides a new idea for the application and development of finite element method in the field of foot and ankle biomechanics in the future.
