    Abstract:

    Abstract Objective:Motion capture technology is used to collect the kinematic parameters of the ankle roating-traction-poking manipulation (RTPM), analyze the operation characteristics of the manipulation and summarize the rules for the technique can be more consistent with the norm, which could lay the root for education inheritance and clinical promotion. Methods:A total of 60 volunteers who had ankle sprains participated in the study. A single physiotherapist specializing in RTPM worked with each of the subjects. Motion capture technology were used to acquire kinematic data during the RTPM. Results: The average time of rotating for six circles was 11.36s and the average time of pulling and thrusting once per ankle was 3.42s. The average value of the traction was 36.94mm and the average movement of the poking by the ankle was 22.44mm. The average angle of motion of the traction ankle was 23.27°, the average poking angle by ankle was 22.76°. The average linear velocity of the ankle joint was 58.28mm/s during the ankle RTPM, the average linear velocity of ankle traction-poking was 23.81mm/s. The linear acceleration value when the ankle joint was rolled was 0.43mm/s2 and the linear acceleration value of the ankle traction-poking manipulation was 0.54mm/s2.Conclusion: The RTPM can be applied repeatedly in clinical practice and also has features of gentleness, rhythmicity, and continuity.Under the premise of following the physiological characteristics of ankle joint, the treatment of the sprained ankle should be carried out with slow and uniform speed continuously.
