    Abstract:

Finite element analysis is able to calculate the stress and strain changes of modeled structures. It has unique advantages in the biomechanical research on foot and ankle. It is also important in the clinical researches on etiologies, pathologies and treatments of foot and ankle. Current researches in foot and ankle finite element analysis include tendon and muscle mechanics, bone stress/strain distribution in pathological condition, internal fixation stabilities. In addition, orthosis and footwear design. It also combines plantar pressure analysis for etiological and therapeutic research.
