    Abstract:

Shear-induced platelet aggregation (SIPA) plays a key role in arterial thrombogenesis. High shear stress triggers von Willebrand factor (vWF) binding to platelet membrane glycoprotein Ⅰ b and subsequent platelet activation, such as adhesion and aggregation. On the contrary, no SIPA phenomenons were found under low shear flow. So, SIPA is a coupled reaction in the mechanism of biochemistry and mechanics. These investigations based on the clue of proteins contribute to explore the complex molecular mechanism of SIPA.
